Meet Dr. John Goolsby

Improving Lives, One Person and One Smile at a Time

I have been practicing dentistry since 2000 and value the relationships I have made since welcoming my first patients.

Dentistry gives me the opportunity, with each patient and every interaction, to improve that person’s life. Whether I’m relieving pain, restoring function, brightening a smile, or offering useful education, that interaction has the potential to have a lasting impact.

I take that responsibility seriously: I want the best for everyone in my care, so I strive to deliver a dental experience that leaves them smiling and feeling comfortable with everything we have done.

For me, dentistry is the perfect blend of science, art, and personal relationships. Each patient has unique goals and concerns, and I must understand what they need in order to provide the treatment they desire.

By listening to my patients, and keeping them engaged with their care, we find solutions that improve their oral and overall health, boost the enjoyment they find in life, and achieve a smile they love to share. I cannot imagine a more fulfilling way to spend my days.

Education and Professional Memberships

  • Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, The Citadel
  • Doctorate of Dental Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine

When I received my doctorate it was not the end of my education: dentistry is an ever-changing field; it is my responsibility to stay current on those changes. Each year I complete many hours of continuing education in order to stay informed of the latest developments, skills, and new technologies. This ensures I am providing the best options, and strongest results, for my patients.

I attend a range of lectures, meetings, and seminars through the American Dental Association and South Carolina Dental Association, and keep current on research through their respective journals. I also belong to the SPEAR Study Club and the Pride Institute.

Beyond the Practice

I grew up in Easley, SC, in the upstate, and have lived with my family in Mt. Pleasant since 2002. Marianne, my wife, and I have been married since 2000. We have two wonderful daughters, Carson and Caroline, and a Springer-Doodle dog, C.J., as well.

I love time with my family, especially when we’re all together. Whether we’re having a cookout, hanging out at home, or taking my daughters to their school and extracurricular activities, it’s a privilege to be with them.

Beyond my family time, I also enjoy playing tennis and participate in the local USTA League.
